The 2023 Secretariat Festival is pleased to make Spendthrift Farm a part of Saturday's tour offerings. Queen Elizabeth II once visited this picturesque farm to behold Triple Crown winners Seattle Slew and Affirmed, who stood at this famed breeding and racing operation for a time.
This year, Festival-goers also will receive the royal treatment with the opportunity to visit Spendthrift's impressive stallion roster, which includes two of Secretariat’s most popular current descendants — America’s leading sire Into Mischief and 2020 Secretariat "Vox Populi" Award winner Authentic. Other notable stallions include Omaha Beach, Vino Rosso and the promising young sires Jackie's Warrior and Cyberknife. The tour features a visit to the farm's noteworthy breeding shed featuring the myriad of nameplates for the great champions who were conceived there. The farm is also the final resting place for Nashua and Raise A Native, among other distinguished stallions.
BREAKING NEWS: Tour-goers attending the Saturday Nov, 11 Spendthrift Farm Tour will have the added bonus of viewing Beholder — four-time Eclipse winning champion mare, and the dam of 2-year-old filly sensation Tamara. Don’t miss this rare and special opportunity to visit with a racing legend.
This limited-seating tour departs downtown Paris via motor coach on Saturday at 1:45 p.m and returns at approximately 4:00 p.m. -- in time to catch more of the Festival's activities. All Spendthrift Farm tour participants will receive a complimentary gift as a keepsake of their visit.
PLEASE NOTE: TOUR TICKETS WILL NOT BE MAILED. Tour-goers can catch the complimentary shuttle bus departing from downtown Paris at 1:45 p.m. or use their own transportation to proceed directly to the farm located at 884 Iron Works Pike in Lexington. Please arrive for check-in at the farm's Visitor Center entrance 10 minutes prior to departure. For more information, please call (502) 473-1036.
