In addition to the Guinness World Record attempt festivities on Sunday, Sept. 20, those who wish to see live racing beneath the famous Twin Spires of Churchill Downs need look no further. Enjoy the races at the home of the Kentucky Derby, the historic first jewel in thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown (and whose track record of 1:59 2/5 seconds is still held by Secretariat, in his legendary 1973 Run for the Roses.)
Seating options included reserved third floor clubhouse box seats at $10 per person or premium seating on the renowned Millionaires Row which includes a delicious lunch buffet at $37 per person.
Post time begins at 12:30 pm with the last race going off at approximately 5:30 pm. Please note, tickets will be available for pick-up the day of the event at the Kentucky Derby Museum front desk. Not tickets will be mailed. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
For those coming from Lexington, Churchill Downs is only a scenic 75 minute drive away, but you can let the Festival do the driving if you prefer, by catching the Big Red excursion bus. This fully appointed bus, complete with restroom and video entertainment, offers a comfortable and convenient option to enjoy the Louisville events, departing from the Kentucky Horse Park at 11:15 am. and returning at 5:45 pm, arriving back at the Horse Park at 7:00 pm. UPDATED NEWS: Secretariat's exercise rider Charlied Davis will be joining the Big Red bus excursion to Louisville, sharing his favorite Secretariat stories with his fellow passengers. Ride in style with Charlie!
The Big Red Bus excursion will depart promptly from the Kentucky Horse Park at 11:15 am. Please arrive for check-in at the Secretariat Festival Table located in the Park's main lobby 10 minutes prior to departure.1>
